It's a Snowflake Challenge at Addicted to Stamps with It's Cold Outside Tilda!

Hello Dearest Readers,

Are you as busy as can be preparing for the upcoming holiday? I am trying to do all I can as quickly as I can! I seem to crash and burn about 10:00 PM! Then, I get up and become a "whirling dervish" all over again! And so it goes, day after day. I love this time of the year, though. I love the cold temperatures and the rain/snow that we get moreso in the winter.

Well, today is a new challenge at the Addicted to Stamps Challenge Blog! I hope you will join our new challenge. Our challenge theme is

Snowflakes

How fun is that? It's hard to think winter during the summer months, but those of us in the Northern Hemisphere are thinking, or even experiencing, snow! Here is my design which I hope will provide some inspiration!

All right, I'll say it - maybe I overdid the snowflakes! LOL. I just couldn't stop! LOL! For my card, I used Magnolia's It's Cold Outside Tilda. I added some mulberry paper "fur" around Tilda's cuffs and collar. The background stamp is one I've had for years and years. I thought it would make a perfect scene for my first frame card. I added lots of die cuts rich with snowflakes as well as clear rhinestones, snow-tex, and a snowflake charm. The cluster in the lower right features sparkly white jingle bells along with real pine cones, flowers, and a sparkly ribbon. Here are some closeups.

The inside has been finished to match the front. It took some courage to do a card in a teal color rather than the traditional Christmas colors. Sometimes, it's good to take chances.

Well, if you have any questions, just ask! I hope you like my card!

I am so, so glad that you stopped by. I hope you will return again very soon!

XO,

Chris

Magnolia See No Evil, Hear No Evil, and Speak No Evil Edwins @ Christmas!

Hello Dearest Readers,

Happy Tuesday to each of you! I hope this post finds each of you well and happy! Things are busy here with the preparation for the Thanksgiving holiday which is just "two sleeps" away! LOL We have our exterior Christmas lights up and ready to brighten the night starting Thanksgiving night. I love, love, love this time of year! The tree is almost all decorated. We have a little more to put on. Again, Thanksgiving night is the night we start lighting our Christmas Tree. It makes me so happy to see the pretty tree and the lights!

Today begins a new challenge at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog! Our challenge is a really good one -

Anything Goes!

That has to be my favorite type of challenge! I am just soooooooooo excited to share my card with you! This card just makes me smile each time I look at it! I cannot hold back any longer. Here it is:

Oh, I had zo much fun planning and executing this card design! I love those little Edwin stamps. They are the Blue Ribbon Edwin Trio available HERE! Magnolia created these as a way to support Breast Cancer Awareness. I just knew they would be perfect for a Christmas card! Did the card make you smile? I hope so!

Here are some additional photos:

I wanted to keep the card festive and with a boy in mind. Rather than add lace and flowers, I chose to add thick red rick-rack. I added little white show flakes and centered each snow flake with a matching green or red rhinestone. The paper that has the packages on it, has a red foil element on the packages. I repeated that red foil by using red foiled card stock as a mat behind the green papers. I added some decorative buttons that had sparkle on some.

On the interior top, I wanted the emphasis to be on the pretty paper with the red foil accents. A die cut doily, pretty ribbon, and cute little charm added to the festive feel. For the interior bottom, I repeated the red rick-rack. This time, I added a little silver jingle bell. I also added the Magnolia Rocking Horse Doohickey Die from the Doohickey Set Volume 2. I would have added more die cuts from the set, but they were too large for the small areas. A bit of red twine completed the horse.

Those See No Evil, Hear No Evil, and Speak No Evil stamps are so versatile! You could use them for Christmas, Valentine's Day, or even Mother's Day or Father's Day! My mind was swimming with possibilities, but since it's the Christmas season, I decided to use them with that theme. You might want to think about getting this trio. They come in a set of three. Diana has them reasonably priced at $29.99 with is approximately $10 per stamp! THAT is a steal, my friends!

Well, if you have any questions, just ask! I hope you like my card! Do stop by the Magnolia-licious Store and check out Diana's new arrivals, too!

I hope you like my card. I am so glad that you stopped by. I hope you will return again very soon!

Chris

Tilda with Trumpet White Challenge @ Magnolia-licious

Hello Dearest Readers,

Happy Tuesday to each of you! I hope this post finds each of you well and happy!

Did you know that Magnolia-licious is now carrying From the Hollow Fairy Stamps as well as Saturated Canary Stamps? From the Hollow and Satruated Canary Stamps are both 20% off! Need a little Christmas gift idea? Well, these stamps would make such wonderful stocking stuffers (even in YOUR own stocking! LOL)

Today begins a new challenge at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog! Our new challenge is to create a card or project that is

White

We would like to see your predominantly white colored card or similar project. You may add just a touch of another color. The Design Team has lovely inspirational examples for you! Check them out on the Challenge Blog and their personal blog for details! Here is my example:

For my card, I chose to use one of the new Magnolia Waiting for Christmas Collection Stamps entitled Tilda with Trumpet. I thought she was just the cutest little thing! I love the way her body is positioned.

I chose to dry emboss snowflakes to the background and then apply all of the die cuts above that. There are dies from Joy Crafts, Frantic Stamper, Cheery Lynn, and Marianne Design. I thought I'd add a bit of lace and found this lace with the ribbon sewn into it. Great! I now had an accent of red to match the Tilda! A pretty bow and pearls finish off the card. I did choose to elevate the Tilda mat on Pop Dots so that it had some dimension, Then, I had some snowflakes punched from another project. I thought they'd look great around Tilda. I decided to add some of those and place a clear rhinestone in the center of each flake. Now, it is impossible to see, but I used my Spica pens to add subtle sparkle to the trumpet, buttons, and trim on the coat, sleeves, and hem. A little turn to the light and you can see the sparkle highlights. Here is a close up.

I chose to color the image with Distress inks this time as I liked the color of the green.

That is my design! I hope you like it and will find some inspiration in it, We would so love to see your lovely works of art at the Challenge Blog!

Oh, we would also love it if you would think about joining the Magnolia-licious Holiday/Winter Blog Hop Challenge! It's not too late. One lucky gal will win a $50 gift certificate from Magnolia-licious! You can't win if you don't enter!

Tilda on the Roof Christmas Card

Hello Dearest Readers,

Today begins a new challenge at the Addicted to Stamps Challenge Blog. I hope you will visit the blog and see the lovely inspirational designs the Design Team has posted! The theme for the next two weeks is ~

Bling, Bling!

I love to embellish my cards, but I don't use lots of rhinestones for some reason. I do like to add sparkle with glitter though. Also, I love to use pearls. Here is my design:

I really love velvet paper. For this card, I chose to use a green velvet paper. I think it looks so rich! Next, I added matching green designer papers, some pretty lace, ribbon, and a bow. For Tilda's mat, I chose to use an embossing folder for the background. I chose to use holly leaves and berries. Next, I added a red rhinestone square and a red and green rhinestone tree from my stash. Next, I added my sweet little Tilda with the furry cap and boots. Oh, the poinsettias have centers with little gold beads. The interior has also been finished to match the front.

I hope you like my design. I am so glad that you stopped by. I hope you will return again very soon!

Chris

Would you like to see my project? Here it is:

My door knobber is quite long. It is made of MDF making it VERY sturdy! I decoupaged the pretty vintage looking paper to both the front and back using a matte finish Mod Podge. Next, I added a pretty green ribbon around the perimeter so that it has a nicely finished appearance.

For my Santa scene, I masked two Magnolia stamps - Wishful Armchair from the Merry Little Christmas Collection and Santa Hands Out Presents from the Santa Collection. I thought they were perfect together! I colored the images with watercolors. I thought it would be fun to add some texture by using an embossing folder on the painted image. This has been matted on a Cheery Lynn Doily die. I backed that with the off white eyelet trim. Lastly, I added some decorative elements. Sparkly holly with berry corners, a tag with Santa's Magic Key, some pearls and snowflakes. I wish I could say this was an easy project, but it took a lot of thoughtful planning!

This will be available for sale in my Etsy shop, A Scrapper's Boutique, if you are interested!

The number you need to add to your total and send to Cathy is …

5

I would so love it if you took a moment or so to leave me your thoughts.

A Snowy Hug Fold Card for Magnolia-licious

Hello Dearest Readers,

Happy Halloween a couple of days early! **smile** I hope this post finds you well and happy! Is it getting colder where you are? It is beautiful here in the desert. The air conditioning has been turned off, and the windows are OPEN!!! It feels so good!

Today begins a new challenge at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog. I have to admit that this one was truly a challenge for me as I only make squareish or roundish cards. I think I've made one step card a couple of years ago, and that was the extent of my fold card attempts. The new challenge is for you to make a card with...

Fancy Folds!

For my card, I chose to make a Side Step Card. Here it is:

I love how it turned out! I didn't expect it to turn out this nicely. I even did the inside - not knowing if the inside was supposed to be finished or not, LOL. Here are more shots:

Do you like it? I think it is just surprisingly cute! Want to know a little more? Well, the paper I used was Bo Bunny Powder Mountain. My stamp was Magnolia Snowy Hug available HERE and on SALE for $11.99! That's a $2.00 savings! The stamp is perfect for those winter themed cards. Wouldn't that image look great on a Christmas card? I used white and brown Bazzill card stock. There are pale blue rhinestones and pearl elements. I added texture using Snow-Tex and then highlighted it with silver glitter. Oh, I almost forgot all the die cuts! I used LOTS of die cuts! I used dies from Memory Box, Magnolia, Cheery Lynn, 2 unknowns, and Martha Stewart. Some of the embellishments on the inside are from my stash.

I want to share with you that at Magnolia-licious ALL dies are 25% off! You may want to get some Christmas presents for yourself just a little early! LOL Diana is also taking orders for the newest stamp and Doohickey Club kits. Check it out!

Well, I hope you will come and play with us at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog! We'd so love to see your Fancy Folds cards! I know I would LOVE some inspiration!

I hope you will leave a comment for me. Know that some lucky person who leave a comment on the DT gals'blogs or the Challenge Blog will receive a wonderfully generous surprise from Diana! Woo Hoo!

I hope I have provided some inspiration for you. I am so delighted that you stopped by! Thank you again!

Have a wonderful week!

Dracula Edwin "Vahnts" to Drink Your Blood!

Hello Dearest Readers,

Good morning to each of you! Thank you so much for stopping by! It is such a pleasure that you have come to see my latest creation. I hope that this post finds each of you well, happy, and filled with creative ideas!

Today begins the newest challenge at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog. I happen to just love Halloween, so making Halloween cards is a lot of fun for me. That being said, the new challenge is to create a card that is…

Spooky or about Halloween!

Are you ready to see my creation? Well, here it is:

Is Edwin cute or what? I love using Edwin stamps! This one is just adorable! I chose to make the stitching more of an embellishment by using a fancy (spooky looking?) stitch. I love how it turned out. I have no idea who made the paper. There was nothing printed on the back. It is a 12 x 12 sheet. I added some bat die cuts cut from a Cheery Lynn die and a Memory Box die. I wanted the card to be gender neutral so I didn't add a ton of flowers. I added a black ribbon and then just the single two-toned gray flower. The "Boo" looks and feels like stone, but it is made from clay. I added a mini screw brad to the existing hole. As you can see, the circular frame surrounding Edwin has a pewter/silver sparkle design.

I wanted to keep the interior panels simple in design, so I kept it minimal. Again, I used the machine stitching as an embellishment. Here are the interior panels:

As you can see, I repeated the bow and added a matching button. For the bottom, I repeated the stars found on the top panel and the front of the card. The flowers are also kept to a minimum.

Both the Dracula Edwin and Star Border stamp are Magnolia.

I hope you will leave a comment for me, as well as my other Teamies! One lucky gal will win a Surprise Package from Magnolia-licious.

I hope I have provided some inspiration for you. I am so delighted that you stopped by! Thank you again!

Have a wonderful week!

Chris

It's Anything Goes at the Addicted to Stamps Challenge Blog!

Hello Dearest Readers,

How are you this fine Sunday in Fall? It's still quite warm here - mid 80s (29° C.). It'll be like this until the beginning of November, and then the cooler temps will come in. The leaves on our trees are beginning to change, though. I've been busy making cards for my DT projects. I have some for sale in my Etsy Store - A Scrapper's Boutique - if you are interested. All are finished on the inside panels, too.

Today begins a new challenge at the Addicted to Stamps Challenge Blog. Our challenge for the next two weeks is…

Anything Goes!

For my card, I chose to create a blue, blue, blue Halloween card! I used five Magnolia Stamps to create the scene on the front. Here it is:

I think it is so different from my usual creations. I just decided to switch it up a bit. Here is the interior:

I just love that spider web and the fuzzy spider who is crawling on it.

Isn't this panel pretty? I have a tag behind the mat where the bow is. I love to do the insides of my cards. I just feel they are unfinished if I don't complete the interiors. I've been known to forget what papers I'd used for the front when waiting to do the inside. So, I do the inside right away so I don't forget!

I hope you will join the Anything Goes Challenge at the Addicted to Stamps Challenge Blog! We love looking at all your beautiful creations! They are all so different and so inspiring! Keep up the great work!

Thank you so much stopping by! I love that you took the time to visit.

Have a wonderful week!

Chris

Love You Slow Much @ Magnolia-licious!

Hello Dearest Readers,

Happy "Hump Day" to each of you! We're on the downhill side of the week and the weekend is just around the corner. Yay!

Today is "W-ednesday" at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog, for my project, I have chosen to use a darling stamp entitled Love You Slow Much. You can find it Here. It's a Wee Stamp by Sylvia Zet. I love her images because it's the only time I think I can get the hair coloration pretty nicely done! Her stamps were made for gals like me! I love her images so much! They always have sweet faces!

I chose to use Autumnal colors for my card. Here it is:

I love layering and there IS DEFINITELY layering on this card! I chose to add these teeny tiny little foam spheres that come off flower sprays I've purchased. Many of you may know them. They tend to just come off the cluster and then blow all over my work table. So, to punish them for being annoying, I catch them and glue them to the card! LOL, LOL, LOL! Now, they can't get away! LOL The image was colored with Distress Inks. I used a copper ribbon slide. The ribbon is a pretty black and brown checked silky ribbon. The flowers are from STTG. I used a corner punch to "gussy up" the corners, a bird cage die with a little bird to add some interest, and my Nesties for the circles. The sentiment is a Magnolia stamp.

Here is a side view:

The interior panels have been designed using the same papers and matching embellies.

I hope you got some inspiration from my card. I'd love to know what you think of my little snail buddy! Please leave a comment if you have the time.

Now is the time to preorder the Magnolia Doohickey Die Club #4. You get so many cute little dies in each kit! You can find info here.

Have a wonderful week and an even better weekend!

Chris

My Precious Daughter Tilda w/ Big Rose Monochromatic Card

Hello Dearest Readers,

Happy Fall to each and every one of you! It is still hot here, but just knowing that cooler temps are coming closer and closer, I can hardly wait! My hummingbirds are gone. They're traveling over a thousand miles on their little, tiny wings. They may be tiny little birds, but they are courageous, determined, and strong. I'm sad that they are gone.

Today begins a new challenge at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog. Our new challenge is to create a card that is

Monochromatic

Before I show you my card, I want to apologize if my photos are blurry. I have severe eye problems and my vision has been extremely blurry. I couldn't tell if my photos are clear or not. I'm sorry if they are not clear.

For my card, I chose to challenge myself and use purple as my color. Purple is my least favorite color. I haven't a clue why, but I don't use it often. For my card, I chose to use Tilda with Big, Big Rose. Diana is currently out of stock on this item. Do contact her to see when she'll be getting more in. I also used the most beautiful Pion papers available at Stay True to God. Also purchased at STTG were my matching beautiful flowers, charm, and seam binding.

Here are my photos:

I am so in love with Pion Papers! The colors are gorgeous and the artwork is exquisite! Now you know why I had to go purple with my card! LOL

Now for some Magnolia-licious news!!!! The Doohickey Die Set, Vol. 2 is now is stock and ready to go! You will want to get this adorable set! So, if you are looking for some cute dies for Christmas, check out Magnolia-licious!

Also, Diana will be carrying MOST of the Saturated Canary Stamps! If you love Saturated Canary, then get your orders in to Diana as soon as you can!

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you will leave a comment for me as well as my other teamies! One lucky gal who posts a comment on the DT blogs will win a special gift from Diana. Trust me, Diana gives GREAT prizes! LOL

Little Cute Edwin Card

Hello Dearest Readers,

Happy Sunday to each of you! I feel as if I've been gone from Addicted to Stamps for ages! How was your summer? Did you do anything special? Ours was quiet. It's just too hot to go outside and do things although this summer has been cooler than many. Usually, we have temps that are around 117° F. (47° C.) but we didn't go over 110° this summer. The good thing is that we did manage to have some rain. The last storm was very, very bad. I have a video on my Facebook page (Chrissy Christensen) that shows a van caught in flooding on the only highway between here and Las Vegas. Check it out.

Today begins the new challenge at the Addicted to Stamps Challenge Blog. Our new challenge for you is to create something…

For a Male

Remember, your project must be for a male (boy or adult male) and have stamping on it. You guys are so wonderful at creating gorgeous projects, so I know this one will be an easy one for you to do! Here is mine:

The scene I created was made with four Magnolia stamps. There is a hidden tag where the bow is. I pulled out my flat tops and added those around the perimeter of the top paper. Some of the elements are elevated on pop dots to give dimension. I also used velvet card stock, glitter card stock, and foil card stock. Here is the side image:

I've listed some of the products I've used below:

Ribbon - Pebblies
Card stock - Bazzill navy blue, red, and tan
Velvet, Glittered, and Foiled Card stock - unknown - I just buy it when I see it.
Pop Dots - EK Success
Balloon Punch - Martha Stewart - I so dislike that person, LOL
Boy and Star Papers - Bo Bunny
Foil 2 Numeral - Thickers
Star Flourish - Joanna Sheen
Star Dies - EK Success and Marvy
Stamps - Magnolia -
Little Cute Edwin
Three Little Fishes
Pier - Brige Deck from Party and Vacation Collection
Grass - It's Magnolia, but I have no idea which one it is. Sorry
Charms - from my stash

I hope you like what I've created to inspire you! Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you like my card! Let me know what you think!

XO,

Chris

Wild Rose Studio Bella in Love

Hello Dearest Readers,

How are you this wonderful Wednesday? It seems our monsoon season may have ended. It was good to have some rain. I'm dreading the day I realize my little hummingbird friends have gone to their winter digs in Mexico. What a long, arduous journey for such a tiny bird. I'm silly, huh? I worry about them! In the mornings now, we can hear geese heading south. They squawk as they fly over the house. The trees in the higher elevations are already showing turning leaves. Fall is around the corner.

Today is "W-ednesday" at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog. Today, I am sharing a sweet little card featuring a Wild Rose Studio image called Bella in Love. You can find her HERE. Diana has her for sale at only $7.99! Oh, and before I forget, Diana has a sale on dies! You might want to check out her die section, too! You can find that HERE .

Here is the card I made for you to see -

Isn't that a sweet stamp? It would be perfect for a love card or even a card for Valentine's Day! The stamp has three hearts above the elephants' heads, but I chose to eliminate that and add three rhinestone hearts instead. My image has been painted with a mixture of Distress Inks and Derwent regular watercolor pencils.

Here is a view from the side:

I chose to make the card very simple. LOL I have it for sale in my Etsy Shop for only $5.00! Sometimes, I just like to make cards that are not heaping with my usual "embellish to death style!" The hardest part about making this card was lining up the interior paper cut outs so that they fell into the same spot as the card cover cut outs! That was NOT an easy task!

Thank you so much for dropping by. I hope you like my card!

Oh, I almost forgot! If you haven't been on the Magnolia-licious Fall Blog Hop Trail, please visit the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog to get the starting point! You will be AMAZED at the gorgeous work my fellow teamies have created! These gals are so very talented!

Have a wonderful week!

XO,

Chris
